QA Level 3 Certificate in First Response Emergency Care (RQF)

Suitable for: The QA Level 3 Certificate in First Response Emergency Care (RCF) qualification is specifically designed for those seeking a career in the emergency services, ambulance services, the event medical sector or those who work in high risk workplaces.

This regulated and nationally recognised prehospital care qualification is clinically endorsed by The Faculty of Pre-Hospital Care- The Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh, and fulfils the competencies set out in the Pre-hospital Emergency Medicine (PHEM) skills framework at descriptor level D.

 

Aim:

  • The purpose of this qualification is to prepare delegates to be able to demonstrate the practical administration of safe, prompt, effective prehospital care in situations which can arise when providing emergency treatment and/or management.

 

Objective:

  • To enable delegates to attain the knowledge and practical competencies needed to deal with a range of prehospital emergency situations.

 

The QA Level 3 Certificate in First Response Emergency Care (RQF) comprises 3 mandatory units with a Total Qualification Time (TQT) of 150 hours.

 

Course Breakdown

Contact learning hours: 35 (classroom)

Self-directed study: 118 hours

 

Minimum time to complete the award: 3 weeks

Maximum time to complete the award: 20 weeks

3 x Theory assessments (Multiple Choice Question Papers)

4 x Skills tests and continuous formative assessment conducted throughout the course

 

Valid for 3 years
