To raise awareness of child protection issues within the Mixed Martial Arts environment and deliver current knowledge on how to appropriately safeguard the children in your care.

OBJECTIVES

  • Relevant legislation and government guidance related to child protection.
  • Basic knowledge of roles and responsibilities of statutory agencies (Social Services, PSNI, NSPCC).
  • Responsibilities of coaches: how to recognise signs of abuse and handling disclosures from children.
  • Reporting concerns and recording information.

At the end of the course delegates should be able to:

  • Discuss the relevant legislation and government guidance related to child protection.
  • Understand the basic knowledge of roles and responsibilities of statutory agencies (Social Services, Police, NSPCC).
  • Identify the responsibilities of coaches: how to recognise signs of abuse and handling disclosures from children.
  • Report concerns and record information.
