This basic spirometry workshop is an introduction to spirometry, or can be for those already performing spirometry who may wish to update and refresh their skills.

Suitable for: GPs and practice nurses.

Aim

To provide the theoretical knowledge behind spirometry, as well as an interactive spirometry session where you will be able to perform spirometry under the guidance of an accredited spirometry trainer.

Objectives

  • Brief overview of spirometry and why it’s important.
  • Identify types of spirometry required.
  • Discuss contraindications.
  • Discuss reversibility testing.
  • Discuss accurate interpretation of spirometry.
  • Outline tips for reporting spirometry results correctly.
  • Common errors in spirometry.

 

Please Note: Due to COVID-19, delegates must bring their own spirometry equipment with them to the session. Each attendee will have the opportunity to review this equipment with our expert trainer and review all the necessary processes involved in spirometry.

Furthermore, due to health and safety concerns, unfortunately, the practical session has been suspended.
