Aim

Learn the fundamental concepts related to patient observation, including the theoretical understanding and importance of health screening, accurate record keeping, common vital signs, tests, and other relevant indicators of patient health.

Objectives

Overview of clinical observations and how to effectively communicate with the patient before carrying out any procedure
Identify good record keeping and consent
Recognise normal and abnormal clinical observations
Understanding and accurately recording various basic observations, including:

– Blood pressure

– Blood glucose testing

– Pulse

– Pulse oximetry

– Respiration

– Temperature

– Urine tests

– Peak flow

– Glasgow Coma Scale

– Inhaler techniques
