Aim

Understand gynaecology ultrasound theory and gain invaluable hands-on practical experience with equipment as well as a scanning simulator.

Objectives

  • Become familiar with the essentials of practical physics
  • Understand all aspects of safety in ultrasounds
  • Gain experience with instrumentation
  • Learn the principles of transvaginal scanning
  • Use Transvaginal ultrasound to outline anatomy, including abnormalities
  • Identify the problems with early pregnancy
  • Understanding the various imaging techniques in fertility and assisted reproduction techniques
  • Gain an overview of basic physics of the equipment
  • Gain experience with the Blue Phantom ultrasound scanning simulator

Please note, interactive practical sessions and case-based discussions will be used to review common dilemmas, rare conditions and advanced ultrasound techniques.
