Overview of the assessment, care and management of wounds, whilst developing basic suturing technique.

  • Overview of classification of wounds and the various types of wound dressings
  • Discuss patient assessment while reviewing cases
  • Carry out effective infection control
  • Discuss patient consent
  • Review suturing materials and equipment
  • Identify correct suture selection and technique
  • Overview of anaesthesia

  • Understand the process of suture removal
  • Discuss procedure aftercare

At the end of the course delegates should be able to:
