Gain the basic first aid skills needed to quickly and effectively act during a medical emergency involving an infant or child.
Objectives
- Managing an incident and the Primary survey
- Recognition, management and care of an unconscious casualty
- Know when to summon emergency services
- Carry out the recovery position
- Identify the care of the airway
- Demonstrate Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) on a Infant and Child using manikins
- Know how to deliver rescue breaths to an infant or child
- Recognition and treatment of medical conditions, i.e. anaphylaxis
- Management of choking and controlling bleeding

At the end of the course delegates should be able to:
